Members of the popular Amazon Prime service are accustomed to getting free 2-day shipping on items from pet food to air conditioners. Now, thanks to an agreement between Amazon and GrubHub, Prime members located in the United States will receive $0 delivery for take out food, delivered to their doorstep with a free, 1-year trial of the GrubHub+ membership service. Prime members in the U.S. can sign up for the service to get unlimited delivery from any restaurant that is a GrubHub partner.
More than half of American adults and 64% of younger people say that meal delivery is a core part of their lifestyle; but only a third of Americans utilize 3rd-party companies to deliver their food. Prime members new to GrubHub will get more convenience. And Prime members who have been with Amazon will get even more value with their membership by adding free grocery delivery, 2-day shipping on many items, and streaming entertainment.
The perks and rewards of Grubhub+ members include free delivery fees on eligible orders. In addition, thanks to a donation match, more than twenty charitable organizations received a boost in donations thanks to the Donate the Change program. It has raised over $25 million in the last year.
Local economies and independent drivers are supported by diners when the community orders delivery on Grubhub. More earnings are being brought to delivery partners due to the hundreds of millions of orders placed by members of the GrubHub+ network.
